Zapier in 2025

Features and themes coming in Zapier in 2025.

2024 was a mega-year for Zapier. We saw these big things launch: 

  • Tables linked records
  • Chatbots Zap action
  • Interfaces Stripe component
  • Canvas AI
  • Agents launched (formerly known as Central)

Just to name a few.

In 2025, Zapier will mature. You’ll start shifting more of your work into Zapier because the ecosystem will compound.

While I won’t reveal the precise roadmaps, here are the features and themes that are on the horizon.

AI + data

AI is more powerful with better data. So a lot of Zapier’s efforts will be in giving AI data and context from things you do in Zapier and across apps you use.

You’ll see this theme weave throughout the others.

Zapier as a platform 

All of Zapier’s products are doubling down on being API-first. In other words, the products will all talk to each other like best friends. 

Their conversations will be heard by AI, making AI within Zapier way more useful. 

A customer’s conversation with a chatbot can inform an Agent to look at past data from your CRM and send you an alert via Slack if your attention is needed. 

It’ll all be connected.

Improved knowledge for Chatbots and Agents

As mentioned earlier, data is everything for AI.

Knowledge will increase and become more usable in creative ways like the ability to quickly search within apps you’ve connected within Zapier.

Human-in-the-loop

Zapier’s needed this for awhile. And now, with AI, human oversight is even more necessary. 

Expect some progress in this area.

Tables formulas

Coming sooner rather than later. You’ll already see some progress here by seeing the summary fields that show up at the bottom of any number field in a table.

The real power with summary fields? They show up in the Zap editor so you can trigger when one changes. Maybe an average dips below a certain threshold. You can get a notification.

User permissions

This is a big part of Zapier’s upmarket push. We’re going after bigger companies. 

Better user permissions are a necessity. 

Upmarket: now’s the time to start a Zapier agency

Zapier is targeting bigger companies in 2025. 

While these companies will likely purchase some sort of onboarding or customer success package with Zapier, there’s a ton of room for agencies to fill the gap. 

Think training, implementation, ideation, and more. 

Years ago when I worked at an enterprise-focussed SaaS, there were a ton of agencies that were the middlemen between the software and the end-customer. Agencies will be in high demand.

Make Interfaces easier to use

There’s a lot here. But part of this will be a couple of new components as well as a complete redesign. 

Things should start to pop in 2025. 

You’ll start using Canvas AI

Most underused feature in Zapier right now. Soon, the AI will be just as good as something like Bolt or Replit in giving you a way to go back-and-forth to develop a large system in Zapier. 

I might be the most excited about this one.

Better Zap advanced features like looping

Let the builders build, they say. You’ll see improvements to the way you use advanced features like looping and sub-zaps. 

Formatting data improvement

Formatter steps can get lengthy. The team is finding a simpler way to format data within the Zap editor.

Wrapping it up

So much goodness is coming. I’m pumped. This list just scratches the surface.
