17-minute Creator Chatbot Challenge
Aggregate your favorite creator's posts. Then build a Zapier chatbot in less than 20 minutes
You only have 17 minutes before your computer combusts.
Thankfully, that’s all the time you need.
Your mission: create a Chatbot in Zapier using the blog or newsletter articles from your favorite content creator as knowledge.
For instance, I built a Justin Welsh chatbot trained on 74 of his articles. I also just built a Chenell “Growth in Reverse” chatbot trained on hers.
Once you create your chatbot, share it on social and tag the creator.
You can do this in under 20 minutes and with a free 14-day Zapier Chatbots trial.
Worst case scenario? You’ve built a chatbot you can reference, ask questions of, and get excellent answers from without having to parse through all the old articles of your fav creator.
Best case scenario? Your creator likes or reshares your post, gets you to create and embed the chatbot you built for their website, and you get some kudos.
In either case, you learned just how quickly you can build something of value in Zapier.
Follow these exact steps to get started right now.
Step 1: Aggregate your creator’s articles
This can potentially take the most time. Or, if you are smart with AI, it can take no time at all.
Your goal is to get as many articles as you possibly can compiled into a single Google Doc.
Two ways to approach this:
- Manually visit each post, copy the contents, paste into the Google Doc
- Use AI to scrape the articles and append to your Google Doc
I’ll be honest, Zapier Central isn’t quite there yet for this use case. My hope is someday it will be, but you might be better off using another AI web scraper to get the job done.
Step 2: Create the chatbot
You’ll need the 14-day trial of Zapier Chatbots in order to access custom knowledge (usually only available on the first tier of paid plans).
In the knowledge section, upload your downloaded text file of all the articles.
If the chatbot can’t find answers in the knowledge source, you don’t want it to make up anything. So change the setting to show a custom message, instead.
I’d direct users to the URL to subscribe to your creator’s newsletter.
Lastly, change up the style to match the brand of the creator. For effect, you can do some screenshot magic and show the chatbot “embedded” on the creator’s site.
Step 3: Share on social
You’re sharing something valuable, here. You’ve done the work of aggregating posts and you’re providing more accessibility for your creator’s content.
Best to share that.
Finishing out the challenge
Send me a note with what you built. Seriously! I’d love to see it.
And if you’ve posted on social let me know so I can give you a like.
The power of AI is in the data you feed it. I’m convinced. If you spend time aggregating some data across the web, throw it in a chatbot and let people interact with it.
That’s a wrap!
To recap:
- Chose a creator, aggregate articles, build a chatbot
- You can do this in under 20 minutes with the right tools
- Share on social!
That’s all for this week!
Happy Building,
Bryce
